JONESBORO, Ark. — A 19-year-old man was arrested this week after police said a fight outside a Jonesboro apartment complex turned into a shootout that left two people wounded.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jaderius Eugene Hare, 19, was arrested following an Oct. 8 gunfight at an apartment complex on Caraway Road. Officers found one victim at the scene and later located Hare and another suspect, Caleb Anderson, hiding in a nearby apartment. Both men had been shot and were taken to a hospital.
Investigators said the shooting stemmed from a dispute involving Hare, Anderson and Queterrious Coleman. Two days earlier, a woman reported that Anderson had pointed a gun at her after being confronted about his brother stealing a firearm from her apartment.
On Oct. 8, police said Hare and Anderson returned and began harassing the woman again. She called Coleman to help. When he arrived, the three argued in the parking lot before the confrontation turned violent.
A witness told police she saw the men arguing, turned away briefly, and when she looked back, saw Coleman firing while Hare and Anderson fired back. She said she did not know who shot first.
Coleman told police he acted in self-defense. Investigators said video evidence partially supported his statement, showing Coleman holding a firearm at his side and telling the others to leave before gunfire began.
Police arrested Hare for terroristic act (occupiable structure) and intimidating a witness, both Class B felonies; aggravated assault, a Class D felony; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor. The same affidavit said Anderson was discharged from the hospital before an arrest could be made.
District Judge David Boling set Hare’s bail at $150,000 cash or surety, noting a prior felony failure to appear and that this was Hare’s third arrest this year. Boling also ordered GPS monitoring and a no-contact order.
Hare’s next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 16.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

My BF lived at the Chateau back in the early 1990s. It seemed like a nice place but I suppose like everywhere times have changed.
