Child Rape Suspect With Criminal Record Free on $100K Bond in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. —  A suspect who is facing a charge of rape with a victim under the age of 14 and other allegations appeared in court on Friday for his first bail hearing.

A temporary bond had already been set for Tyler Ott White, 34, of Jonesboro when he appeared in court on October 3, 2025. Judge Tommy Fowler announced the charges White is facing: rape of a victim under the age of 14, a Class Y felony; sexual indecency with a child, a Class D felony; sexual grooming of a child, a Class D felony; and terroristic threatening in the first degree, a Class D felony.

White bonded out on October 2. After an agreement between the prosecutor and defense, the judge allowed the temporary bond of $100,000 cash or surety to remain in place. A no-contact order was issued to protect the victim.

Attorney Zach Morrison represents White. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jessica Thomason, representing the state, agreed to the bond request. Thomason was not in court for the bail hearing on Friday. An assistant city attorney, who herself stated she was not informed about the case, represented the state at the bond hearing, which was presided over by Judge Fowler.

The probable cause affidavit states that on September 24, 2025, JPD was referred a case from Arkansas Crimes Against Children. A juvenile victim reported to their therapist instances of inappropriate contact with an adult.

Between 2019 and 2021, the victim alleged that they were “raped” by White. The victim alleged being forced to ingest alcohol and prescription medication belonging to someone else, making them drowsy. Several allegations were listed:

White allegedly…

  • would become intoxicated and walk around, forcing the juvenile victim (JV) to look at his genitalia
  • took his clothes off and got into bed with JV
  • entered the JV’s bedroom, removed his clothes and JV’s clothes, and raped the victim.
  • followed JV into the shower.
  • showed JV a “sex tape” and told JV to “take notes.”

The juvenile victim said White would threaten to “kill” or sell JV into human trafficking when JV refused to comply with the situation.

White was found guilty in July 2023 of possession of firearms by certain persons and sentenced to 60 months suspended imposition of sentence (SIS). Charges for drug possession (meth or cocaine) were nolle prossed.

White’s criminal record goes back to his 20s. At 23, he took a negotiated guilty plea to possessing felony drug paraphernalia in exchange for the state dropping other charges, online court records show. He was sentenced to 60 months SIS for that case, too.

He also has prior arrests for third-degree domestic battery, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and other charges, according to court records.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
