Sharp County Man Arrested on Federal Sex Offender Warrant

OZARK ACRES, Ark. — A Sharp County man wanted on a federal warrant for failing to register as a sex offender has been taken into custody.

The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Williams, 54, was arrested Sept. 3 at a home in Ozark Acres after deputies were contacted by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities said Williams was wanted out of Missouri for failing to register as a sex offender and is listed in the National Crime Information Center as a sexually violent predator. Investigators said he also failed to register in Arkansas.

Williams was taken into custody without incident and transported to a federal holding facility.

Sheriff Shane Russell thanked the U.S. Marshals Service for its partnership and efforts to keep local communities safe.
