TRUMANN, Ark. — The CALL, a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children in foster care, celebrated a significant milestone as Tyler and Clay Collins completed their training to become foster parents. The couple, inspired after attending The CALL in Poinsett County’s informational night earlier this year, stepped forward to provide a loving home for children in need.
Founded in 2007, The CALL has been instrumental in mobilizing Christians across Arkansas to address the critical shortage of foster homes. This statewide organization, headquartered in Little Rock since 2010, operates with the mission to educate, equip, and encourage local communities to care for foster children.
“In our small town of Trumann, the need became painfully clear,” shared Heather Shrader, Poinsett County Coordinator at The CALL.
Shrader posted on Facebook, “Fifty-four children from Trumann entered foster care, but not a single home was available to welcome them. Not even one. So we prayed for one. We prayed for just ONE family from one church in our community that would answer the call to step into the lives of children who need them for a season.”
Tyler and Clay Collins answered that call. After completing their training, they are now prepared to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their community. This commitment marks a crucial step towards fulfilling The CALL’s vision: ensuring that every child in foster care finds a welcoming home nearby.
“Let’s congratulate Tyler and Clay for completing their training last month, and wrap them in prayer as God walks them through this season of life-changing service,” Shrader said online.
With one home now open, The CALL in Poinsett County looks forward to continuing their efforts to recruit and support additional foster families. For more information on how you can get involved or support their mission, visit thecallinarkansas.org.
