Brookland — Republican Jason Allen has announced his bid for Craighead County Sheriff.
Jason is currently Assistant Chief Deputy of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department, serving as Patrol Captain and Commander of the SWAT, K-9, and Dive Teams.
“With 19 years in law enforcement, I have earned the experience required to serve as our next Sheriff,” said Jason. “I love Craighead County and its people. Our region can only prosper if our communities are safe. I believe that public servants must pledge to uphold our values and the Constitution with honor and integrity, and I would be honored and humbled to have your vote.”
Jason is Chair of the Law Enforcement Training Academy Advisory Board, Commander of the Arkansas Sheriff Association Honor Guard, and a member of the Brookland School District and Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy.
As part of his campaign, Jason has committed to be responsible with taxpayer dollars, investigate and assist in the prosecution of all forms of crime, protect vulnerable populations, utilize emerging technologies, and maintain the highest standard of conduct in public service.
Jason’s announcement comes as Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd retires. “I’m grateful for Sheriff Boyd’s many decades of outstanding service to our community,” said Jason.
A lifelong resident of Craighead County, Jason is a former small business owner and Deacon at his family church. He and his wife, Tennille, have been married for 30 years and have three children and two grandchildren.
