JONESBORO, Ark. — A California man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while possibly high on drugs this week in Jonesboro.
The PC affidavit states that on July 30, 2025, officers responded to a local hotel on Kazi Street for a report of a prowler. Officers met with an alleged victim who said a white male was fully nude and knocking on other residents’ doors.
The female victim said that when she made contact with the suspect, he forced her against the wall and told her that he was going to rape her. While being held against the wall, the suspect allegedly proceeded to play with himself while masturbating. The victim pushed him back and fled out of the stairwell.
While police took the victim’s statement, they also made contact with the suspect, who was still fully nude. The suspect, Jesse Michael McCauley, 34, of Rocklin, CA, stated he was high on methamphetamine, the affidavit said.
McCauley was arrested for second-degree sexual assault, a Class B felony, and misdemeanors for indecent exposure, public intoxication, and third-degree assault. McCauley rambled while in court on Friday, first saying he heard voices and suffered from schizophrenia, and then mentioning his need for rehab. Judge Barbara Halsey said he poses a risk to the public, setting his bail at $750,000 cash or surety.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
