TRUMANN, Ark. — A Trumann man was arrested after officers recovered more than 3 ounces of fentanyl and about $1,700 in cash from a hotel room, according to police.
Johnny “Capone” Turner was taken into custody without incident as part of an ongoing investigation by the Trumann Police Department and the 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force earlier this month.
According to Trumann Police Chief Jonathan Redman’s post on Facebook, the 3.1 ounces of fentanyl seized could have resulted in numerous overdoses—and potentially deaths—had it made it to the street.
“This case is far from over,” Redman said. “Our investigators are committed to climbing the ladder and bringing every person responsible for poisoning our community to justice. We will continue to target and dismantle drug distribution networks operating in and around Trumann.”
Redman thanked the public for its continued support and encouraged anyone with information about drug activity to contact the department.
“Together, we will take our streets back,” he said.
