Memphis Man Accused of Threats, Drug Possession After Road Rage Incident in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A man was arrested Friday following a reported road rage incident in which he allegedly made threats and was later found with packaged marijuana, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Paragould police said they responded July 11 to an active road rage situation where 56-year-old Willie Kyles was accused of threatening to kill and sexually assault another person. Officers located Kyles’ vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

While police detained the suspect, the victim and two witnesses arrived at the Paragould Police Department and gave statements. According to the report, the victim said Kyles made explicit threats, which were corroborated by both witnesses. Investigators instructed officers to take Kyles into custody.

A search of the suspect reportedly turned up over 14 grams of marijuana in five separate bags. Police said Kyles later gave self-incriminating statements in an interview under a Miranda warning.

Kyles is being charged with terroristic threatening and possession of a Schedule VI substance with purpose to deliver, both Class D felonies.

No bond information was available as of publication.
