PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man was arrested for a felony over the weekend for allegedly striking his pregnant girlfriend.
The probable cause affidavit released on Monday states that on May 31, 2025, Paragould police responded to the 200 block of S. 18th Avenue for reports of a fight. There, police spoke with the alleged victim, who reported her boyfriend, Landon Finnegan, had hit her.
Police noted swelling on the head of the victim. Officers also noted she is 20 weeks pregnant with the defendant’s child.
Finnegan was taken to the police station and interviewed after being read his Miranda rights. Officers said he made incriminating statements in the interview.
Landon Finnegan, 18, of Paragould, was arrested for third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony.
5-26-305. Domestic battering in the third degree.
(Class D Felony)
(a) A person commits domestic battering in the third degree if:
(1) With the purpose of causing physical injury to a family or household member, the person causes physical injury to a family or household member;
(b)
(1) Domestic battering in the third degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
(2) However, domestic battering in the third degree is a Class D felony if:
(A) Committed against a woman the person knew or reasonably should have known was pregnant;
Bail was set by Judge Dan Stidham at $10,000 cash-only. The judge ordered no contact with the victim, no possession of weapons, and the use of an ankle monitor if Finnegan is released.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
