Brimhall Sworn In as Circuit Judge

JONESBORO, Ark. — Doug Brimhall has taken the bench as a circuit judge for the Second Judicial District.

Brimhall was sworn in on Wednesday, January 1 at the Craighead County Courthouse in Jonesboro by Administrative Judge Pamela Honeycutt, according to court officials.

In March 2024, Brimhall won a special election for circuit judge, district 2, division 4, against opponent Curtis Walker Jr. Questions arose as to his eligibility after he was arrested two months later for aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony, and third-degree battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

After taking a plea deal to a harassment charge, Brimhall told NEA Report he was more qualified than ever to take the bench, despite calls for him to step aside.
