Brimhall Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor Harassment, Gets 12-Month Suspended Sentence

JONESBORO, Ark. – Circuit Judge-elect Doug Brimhall resolved his pending felony charges on Thursday with a misdemeanor plea deal, according to a release from his legal team.

According to the release from Brimhall’s attorney, Bill Stanley, Brimhall resolved the matter by pleading to a misdemeanor charge of harassment on Thursday, Sept. 19.

“Mr. Brimhall chose to resolve this matter today by pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of harassment and believes it is in the overall best interest of his family. He looks forward to reconciliation of all damaged relationships and further requests that the privacy of his entire family – on both sides of this matter – be respected.

“Mr. Brimhall looks forward to taking the bench and fulfilling his obligations and responsibilities that this community elected him to fulfill.”

For pleading to the misdemeanor, Brimhall received a 12-month suspended imposition of sentence, according to the law firm. He was also ordered to pay standard fines and costs. Anger management classes were also part of the sentence.
