Wanted White County Man Arrested after Evading Search Warrant

SEARCY, Ark. – A wanted suspect in White County was taken into custody this week, but not without incident.

The Searcy Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT) was activated on March 27 at approximately 2:00 pm to execute a search warrant at the residence of James Lashlee, 46, located in Searcy, the release from the Searcy Police Department said. Lashlee, who was wanted by the Arkansas Board of Parole and suspected of several felonies in the Searcy/White County area, was the subject of the warrant.

During the execution of the warrant, it was discovered that Lashlee had vacated the residence and entered a vehicle, traveling along Beebe Capps.

Searcy SRT swiftly intercepted Lashlee’s vehicle near Country Squire LN on Beebe Capps, where he was apprehended. Despite commands from law enforcement, Lashlee allegedly resisted arrest and had to be forcibly removed from the vehicle.

Subsequently, he was taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail. Charges listed include simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of firearm by certain persons, possession of schedule I or II substance with purpose to deliver, and drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Authorities noted ongoing investigations could possibly leading to additional charges.

Assisting the Searcy SRT and participating in the investigation were various law enforcement agencies, including the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force, the Intensive Supervision Program, Arkansas Community Correction Officers, and the White County Sheriff’s Office.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
