PARAGOULD, Ark. – A woman is accused of stealing lottery tickets while on the job at a gas station in Greene County.

The probable cause affidavit released to NEA Report on Monday says Rona Laws, 59, of Lafe, is being accused of lottery fraud, a class D felony.

On January 4, while at work, police allege Laws removed multiple lottery tickets from the convenience store counter. The affidavit then says she scratched the tickets off without paying for them and scanned winning tickets to help pay for the tickets she had already used.

The store noted a loss of $375.

Detective Lt. Robert Sexton reported interviewing Laws. After she waived her Miranda rights, the detective said she made incriminating statements.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
