Fatal Shooting in West Memphis: Homicide Investigation Underway

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — A shooting incident claimed the life of a West Memphis man over the weekend and authorities are seeking the public’s help in the homicide investigation.

It happened at approximately 9 PM on December 2 in the 600 Block of South 21st Street in West Memphis, a press release said. The incident resulted in the fatality of George Mabin, 44, of West Memphis.

The release says dispatch received a call alerting officers to a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at a residence. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered an unresponsive Mabin inside the premises. Despite emergency medical services’ swift response, Mabin succumbed to his injuries.

The Criminal Investigation Division’s detectives commenced their preliminary investigation at the scene following the tragic incident.
