Jonesboro Man Faces Felony and Other Charges After DWI-Related Accident

JONESBORO, Ark. – A 20-year-old man is facing a series of charges, including a felony, after police say he caused an accident while driving under the influence on August 18.

The incident occurred after 8 PM near the intersection of Gladiolus and Harrisburg Road. Police reports indicate that a black Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Kayden Z. King of Jonesboro, was following another vehicle too closely. Details of the accident are partially masked in the report, but it has been established that the wreck occurred at King’s fault.

Upon investigation, police discovered 56 grams of green marijuana in a plastic bag and a THC pen in King’s possession. Blood was drawn from the suspect at a local hospital for further examination. The victim of the crash was also treated at a local hospital, sustaining head, neck, and body pain.

King was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving on a suspended license, expired license/failure to pay registration fee, and following too closely.

This incident serves as a serious reminder of the dangers associated with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Law enforcement authorities continue to stress the importance of responsible driving and adhering to traffic laws.
