
The White County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected murder discovered early this morning in Kensett.
On at about 2:15 AM on Wednesday, the White County Sheriff’s Office responded to 122 Usery Road in Kensett after a 911 call came in regarding the tenant of the home being injured by what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies found Tommie Jacoby Weldon, 19, inside the home with a gunshot wound.
NorthStar EMS responded and transported Weldon to the Unity Health Hospital Emergency Room. He later died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
A crime scene was immediately established, and Detectives with the White County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to begin processing the scene as a homicide.
Witness statements were gathered, and evidence was collected at the scene that will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further analysis.
