MARKED TREE, Ark. – A release from the sheriff in Poinsett County indicates two young adults have been arrested on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges in the case of an elderly Marked Tree man who was found murdered on April 16.
The Arkansas State Police, Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marked Tree Police Department announced two arrests for the murder of Johnny Mack Rhoads, 87, of Marked Tree. The arrests themselves took place on Tuesday, May 12.
Jordan Ratton, 19, of Marked Tree is charged with Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery. Poinsett County District Judge Ron Hunter set a one-million-dollar cash only bond.

“This investigation is active and ongoing,” wrote Sheriff Kevin Molder. “No other information can be released at this time.”
Johnny Mack Rhoads, 87, was found dead on April 16 at his home in Marked Tree. A $10,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects involved. Family pleaded for the public to help, calling it a cold-blooded murder.
