Sheriff’s lieutenant released from jail, being investigated for theft of government funds

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Greene County Sheriff’s lieutenant who was arrested by the FBI Tuesday and incarcerated in Pulaski County Jail has been released.

A public information officer with Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department confirmed his release to NEA Report after Allen Scott Pillow, 55, no longer appeared on the inmate roster for the jail.

He was released at 1:10 PM.

The reason for the release, was “judicial request,” the PIO said.

UPDATE: Region 8 News reports he’s being charged with theft of government funds. He must surrender his passport.

Assistant US Attorney Allison Bragg told NEA Report she couldn’t comment on it due to it being an on-going investigation. However, she said the charge Pillow is being investigated for is Theft of Government Funds.

The Greene County Sheriff Steve Franks has read our requests for comment and refuses to answer them.
