
WHITE COUNTY, Ark. – Heinous sex crimes involving an alleged victim who was underage have resulted in an arrest in White County
On Friday, August 9, 2019, the White County Sheriff’s Office received a referral from the Child Abuse Hotline in regard to a 13 year old female juvenile being sexually abused.
During the course of the investigation, Jimmy Roger Altom, 67 of Pangburn was identified as the suspect and other victims also came forward and alleged that Altom had sexually abused them throughout the years.
On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the White County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the home of Altom. Altom was transported to the White County Sheriff’s Office and was read his Statement of Rights. Altom then gave a statement of his involvement, a release said.
Altom was arrested and initially charged with 5 counts of Rape, a Class Y Felony pending the filing of formal charges by the White County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Altom has been issued a court date of November 5, 2019 at 9:00 am in the White County Circuit Court. Altom will also have a bond hearing this Friday, September 27, 2019 at 9:00 am to determine his bond.
