
STONE COUNTY, Ark. – A shooting that ended with two dead, including a law enforcement officer, has happened in Stone County.
Two individuals are dead and one wounded in “what is believed to be a law enforcement officer involved shooting incident,” a press release from Arkansas State Police said. One of the deceased is a Stone County Sheriff’s Deputy – Sgt. Mike Stephen, 56.
Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division have been requested to investigate the incident which occurred in southwest Stone County near the Van Buren County line.
Tweets first indicated an officer-involved shooting occurred near 2020 Flag Road in Stone County. The OEM account said multiple people may be down but followed up that there was presently no active shooter.
