
PIGGOTT, Ark. – A man was asleep behind the wheel but woke up to find deputies on his case int he parking lot of Casey’s General Store in Piggott early Sunday morning.
At 5:30 a.m., Sheriff Terry Miller of Clay County said deputies made contact with the vehicle and the driver, Anthony Coleman, 45, of Paragould, who was asleep behind the wheel and couldn’t be awoken easily. Once they got him awake, deputies said he was very confused and not making clear sense.
Then he handed officers a small piece of copper he was holding. Officers discovered two taped up bags containing suspected methamphetamines inside of the copper item. Coleman was then placed under arrest and transported to the Clay County Detention Center.
Coleman is being charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
