
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. – Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on July 6, 2017, after a six month long investigation, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, the Sixteenth Judicial Drug Task Force and the Mountain View Police Department devised a “Joint Agency Warrant Sweep.”
Since the beginning of the investigation, some of the drug dealers have been arrested through search warrants or being individually approached by officers in the county. The investigation consisted of investigators utilizing confidential informants in an undercover capacity to purchase illicit drugs in Stone County.
The objective of the operation was to target crystal methamphetamine and illicit drug dealers throughout Stone County. Sheriff Bonds also included other Felony warrants in this operation.
Sheriff Bonds offered thanks to Sheriff Shawn Stephens of the Independence County Sheriff’s Department for his assistance in the operation, as well as the Sixteenth Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer, Sixteenth Judicial Task Force, Mountain View Police Department, Arkansas State Police Criminal Division, Izard County Sheriff’s Department, Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas Game and Fish Enforcement and Arkansas Parole and Probation.
