MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The sheriff’s office in Baxter County said in a press release a local woman struck a victim in a wheelchair three times in the face.
The alleged incident happened sometime before 8:45 a.m. That was when Corporal Savino with Baxter County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Elm Tree Lane to a report that a 73-year-old woman in a wheelchair had been struck three times in the face and was injured. The suspect was Sarah Lynn Smith, 39, of Mountain Home.
During the course of the investigation, Savino made contact with both the victim and Smith. His investigation determined the 73-year-old invalid was struck three times in the face by Smith, the release said, basing that upon the evidence.
Smith was arrested and taken into custody. She was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on a felony charge of Domestic Battery in the Second Degree and is currently being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. She will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer the charge on June 23rd.
