Arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects in an early-morning shooting that left one person dead and six others injured.
Chauncey Jovon Thomas, 19-years-old of Jonesboro, and Kalius Jaciel Lane, 20-years-old and also of Jonesboro, are both wanted for Murder-1st Degree and six counts of Battery- 1st Degree.
Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
Officers were dispatched to a shots-fired complaint at 311-B South Main St. about 12:23 Sunday morning. When officers were arrived, they found and began rendering aid to a number of gunshot victims. The victims were members of a large group of people attending a party in the basement area of the building. They were shot when an altercation broke out among some of the people at the party.
One victim, Monterio Barnes, 18, of Jonesboro, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Five people who were injured were transported to local hospitals and one other individual was transported to a Memphis hospital for treatment.
A number of officers from other law enforcement agencies assisted Jonesboro police in assisting the victims, controlling traffic and contacting potential witnesses.
