
JONESBORO, Ark. – While most races were decided Tuesday night, a few in Craighead County will be decided later in the month of November, said County Clerk Kade Holliday.
In Black Oak, a runoff election for Alderman Position 1 will be between Daniel Carmichael, who got 38.54 percent of the vote, and Tim Jones, who netted 35.42 percent.
In Brookland, Alderman Ward 3, Position 1 will be between Melinda Burcham, who had 39.24 percent of the vote Tuesday night, and Martin Crain, who was close behind with 38.16 percent.
In Jonesboro, Alderman Ward 1, Position 2 will be either Gene Vance – 45.37 percent of the vote Tuesday, or Terry Sharp – 28.65 percent of the vote.
Finally, in Monette, the position of Alderman Ward 1, Position 2 will go to either Kristian Nuckles who had 46.72 percent of the vote, or Tracey Yates Thompson, who had 27.74 percent.
Early voting will be November 22, 23 and 28 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Craighead County Clerk’s Office in Jonesboro and the courthouse in Lake City.
Election Day will be November 29 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the following effected poll sites:
- Black Oak – Black Oak City Hall
- Brookland – Allen Park Community Center and Brookland City Hall
- Jonesboro – ASU Armory, Allen Park Community Center, Craighead County Fairgrounds, Earl Bell, Parker Park Community Center, Philadelphia Fire Station, Temple Baptist Church, Valley View Church of Christ, Walnut Street Baptist Church
- Monette – Monette Legion Hut
In addition, Craighead County Clerk Kade Holliday said financial reports are due from the candidates with runoff elections if they have passed the contributions or expenditure limits of $500 in the aggregate. This report will cover the time frame of November 9 to 19 and is due on November 21 by 5 p.m. in the County Clerk’s office.
