JONESBORO, Ark. – It was the only item of business on the agenda for the October meeting of the Craighead County Quroum Court and it failed to pass by two votes.
With a vote of five in favor, seven opposed and one abstention, the vote of no confidence in Tax Collector Marsha Phillips failed to pass.
The resolution was presented by Justice of the Peace Garry Meadows.
“The citizens of Craighead County and the Quroum Court need to have full confidence in the County Collector of Craighead County,” the resolution stated. “Therefore, be it resolved by the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, that the confidence has been lost in the Collector’s Office of Craighead County.”
