BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Independence County Dispatch is sharing a warning for emergency responders – be careful.
A possible ambush was reported to have occurred at Little Rock Interstate 430. A male on a motorcycle was believed to have faked an accident and when two nurses stopped to help and approached, he stood up, dropped a gun, picked it up and drove off.]
According to Independence County Dispatch’s post, he may have staged the accident with intention to harm first responders before he changed his mind and drove off.
Since the post was made, it has been shared by various departments including Cave City Fire/Rescue, Swifton Fire Department and Mountain View Fire Department.
All emergency personnel are urged to use caution while approaching scenes of this type, especially with this thought in mind, but authorities also have no credible threats or suspicions of threats, other than this apparent incident. Coupled with many intense emotions nationally involving law enforcement, and several recent incidents of officers being murdered, an atmosphere of worry is already in the air for many emergency responders.
No incidents are known to have occurred locally.
