
SEARCY, Ark. – A deputy who allegedly sexually assaulted a female inmate south of Searcy was arrested by Arkansas State Police on Monday night.
Michael Graff, 29, was taken into custody based on probable cause in connection with the sexual assault of a female inmate, according to a news release from Arkansas State Police.
Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division reported a 26-year-old female inmate was being transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction McPherson Unit when she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Graff. The incident was alleged to have happened south of Searcy.
Graff is now in custody at the White County Jail.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has fired Graff since being arrested, according to KATV.
Agents will continue investigating the incident today and plan to present information to the prosecuting attorney to file formal charges, according to the report.
