Jonesboro Chief Operations Officer L.M. Duncan has received the Marvin Vinson Commitment to Excellence Award, bestowed by the Arkansas Municipal League.
The award is presented to municipal officials who have served with distinction and dedication to their cities or have been a part of the municipal league’s boards, councils or committees for 12 years.
“It’s been an honor to serve the cities of Bono and Jonesboro,” Duncan said. “To receive this award is very humbling.”
Duncan, who has served as COO for the City of Jonesboro the past 5½ years, was mayor of Bono for 10 years and served two years on the city council. With the Arkansas Municipal League, Duncan served as District 1 vice president and was a member of its executive committee and advisory council.
The Arkansas Municipal League is a service and advocacy organization for the municipalities of Arkansas. The League has a voluntary membership composed of all 500 cities and towns in the state and was created to assist cities with information and representation in the public affairs of our state and nation.
