JONESBORO, Ark. – A man returned to his property Saturday to find over $16,000 in property stolen, including a very unique lawn mower.
The theft took place at the 200-block of Magnolia Drive between noon, Friday, July 1, and 5 p.m. the day after. Officers arrived Saturday evening and spoke with the homeowner who told them someone broke into his garage and also kicked the door into his residence.
Stolen from the garage was an orange Bad Boy mower with a 60-inch cut and a Dale Earnhardt Jr. sticker on the front. Also taken was a small go-cart with a Subaru engine on the back.
In addition, a large standing tool box with an estimated $10,000.00 worth of tools, the homeowner said, was also stolen.
Officers did retrieve a number of pieces of evidence from the scene, including a black Bushnell flashlight on the ground and a black backpack with several items of interest. Police searched the scene for fingerprints and shoeprints unsuccessfully but did locate tire tread marks which were photographed.
Police are following up on several leads, as well.
