Woman reports attempted robbery at gas pump in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman was pumping gas in Jonesboro Wednesday when a terrifying incident unfolded before her very eyes, she reported.

A man with a gun attempted to rob her.

The incident was reported at the Main Street and Johnson Avenue Exxon gas station. The female victim, whose name NEA Report is shielding, reported a white man with a black handgun came up to her while she was pumping gas. She told a Jonesboro police officer the man demanded money from her repeatedly, while she told him she had none to give.

Another customer pulled up to the pump at that time, she said, prompting him to put the gun away and walking west around the building.

The suspect was described as unshaven, approx 5’7″ tall and wearing a green shirt. He was believed to be around 25-years-old, with long, dirty blonde hair.

JPD had a suspect in the case but after the victim was presented with a photo line-up, she did not identify the man as the assailant.
