PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould traffic stop this week led to a suspect’s arrest on a Class Y felony after police said officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, and a loaded revolver in the vehicle.
Scott Alan Hill, 39, was arrested on March 31, 2026, on charges of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; possession of firearms by certain persons, a Class B felony; possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony; and misdemeanor possession.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Officer Dylan Works made a traffic stop after the registration did not return to the vehicle on which it was displayed.
During the stop, Works made contact with the occupants and identified the driver as Hill, according to the affidavit. Police then ran Hill through the dispatcher center to check for warrants and were informed Hill was on active parole or probation with a search waiver on file.
The affidavit said Hill was asked to exit the vehicle so a search could be conducted. Assisting officer Sgt. Mike Price located a small tin container with two marijuana cigarettes in the driver’s seat, according to police. Price also located 0.6 grams of methamphetamine underneath the driver’s seat cover.
The affidavit said assisting officer Demetris Noles located a loaded .22-caliber revolver under the driver’s seat. Police also noted Hill is a convicted felon.
Judge Curtis Hitt set bail at $75,000 cash or surety.
A Class Y felony is punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
