Parolee Accused of Tossing Bottle Containing Meth During Home Visit Arrested

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A parolee was arrested after officers conducting a home visit say he attempted to discard a bottle containing methamphetamine.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers Zach Vowell and Jared Cook conducted a home visit on March 13, 2026, at 914 East Lake Street, the residence of Cameron Keith Dortch, 36. Authorities said Dortch was on active parole with a search waiver on file.

When officers went to Dortch’s bedroom, where he was lying on the bed, one officer reported that Dortch reached into his pocket and threw a bottle.

Investigators said the bottle contained approximately 31.1 grams of methamphetamine.

Dortch was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver, a Class A felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony.

Judge Curtis Hitt set bail at $150,000 cash or surety with a condition requiring an ankle monitor if released.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
