Man Arrested After Police Say Storage Unit Break-Ins Caught on Surveillance

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man was arrested after investigators say surveillance footage captured him cutting locks and removing property from storage units at a local facility.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers contacted a storage unit business on Feb. 19, 2026, after noticing several locks had been cut on customers’ storage units. Multiple victims were identified, with at least two reporting property stolen from their units.

The business later provided surveillance footage from Feb. 12 and Feb. 14 that investigators say showed the defendant, Kenneth Freeman, 39, using bolt cutters to remove a lock from a storage unit door.

Police said the footage also showed the defendant on both occasions loading victims’ property into vehicles known to be driven by him.

Investigators noted the defendant has previous convictions for theft and was reportedly out on bond for similar offenses at the time.

Freeman was arrested on two counts of breaking or entering, Class D felonies; two counts of theft of property, Class D felonies; and first-degree criminal mischief, two misdemeanors.

Judge Curtis Hitt set bail at $50,000 with a no-contact order.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
