Woman Shot Multiple Times in Poinsett County; Suspect Found Dead in Vehicle

POINSETT COUNTY, Ark. — A woman was shot multiple times early March 7 on Tulot Road, and a male suspect was later found dead in a nearby vehicle from what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and officers with the Trumann Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Tulot Road at approximately 4:45 a.m. in reference to a reported shooting involving a female victim.

When law enforcement arrived, they located the woman outside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

During the course of the response, officers located the male suspect deceased inside a vehicle on Tulot Road near the residence. Authorities said the suspect appeared to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident remains under active investigation by the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Kevin Molder said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
