Paragould Police Arrest Registered Sex Offender Accused of Failing to Report Address Change

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A registered sex offender was arrested after Paragould police determined he had not been living at his reported address and failed to notify authorities of the change, according to an affidavit.

Christian Seth Johnson, 25, of Paragould, was arrested on a charge of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements — refusal to cooperate with the assessment process.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Johnson came to authorities March 4, 2026, to complete a change of information required under Arkansas law for registered sex offenders.

During the process, Johnson told officials he would soon be moving to Marion when his probation was transferred. Investigators noted Johnson is currently on supervised probation with a search waiver.

A search of Johnson’s phone uncovered evidence he had been living in West Memphis since approximately Feb. 18, 2026, according to the affidavit. Investigators also spoke with a relative and former roommate who corroborated that Johnson had not been living at his registered address for about two weeks.

Authorities said Johnson did not report the move to the agency having jurisdiction as required under Arkansas law.

Judge Curtis Hitt set Johnson’s bail at $25,000 cash or surety.

According to the Paragould Daily Press, Johnson was arrested for rape of a minor in 2021.
