Paragould Man Charged After Domestic Battery Call Involving Child

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man is facing multiple charges following a reported domestic battery incident that allegedly involved a child.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Paragould police officers were dispatched Jan. 18, 2026, to Autumn Lane in reference to a domestic battery call. The alleged victim told officers the physical altercation began at Pecan Grove with her boyfriend, Alvin Lewis.

The victim reported that Lewis became upset after realizing she had sent inappropriate photos to another man and began hitting her. During the physical altercation, the victim stated that her 4-year-old child was struck in the face by Lewis, causing minor injury to the right side of the child’s face.

Officers noted visible injuries to both the victim and the child. Police documented a black eye and bruising on the right side of the child’s face, along with bruising on the cheek. The victim was observed with a black eye and bruising on the left side of her face, as well as bruising on her left arm and redness on the back of her neck, according to the affidavit.

Officers located Lewis and took him into custody. He was transported to the police department for questioning. During a Miranda interview, Lewis admitted that a physical altercation occurred but denied striking either the victim or the child. Officers documented no injuries to Lewis.

Alvin Lewis, of Paragould, has been charged with second-degree domestic battery, a Class C felony, as well as third-degree domestic battering and second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, both misdemeanors.

Jail records show bail was set at $50,000.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
