Paragould Man Arrested After Alleged ATM Damage at Local Bank

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man has been arrested following an incident at a local bank that resulted in thousands of dollars in damage, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Stephen G. Ziegenhorn, 38, of Paragould, was arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief.

According to court records, the incident occurred on July 9, 2025, at First National Bank, located at 200 West Main Street. Investigators say Ziegenhorn was captured on surveillance video attempting to use an ATM when the machine failed to return his debit card.

The affidavit states that Ziegenhorn then retrieved an item from his vehicle and attempted to break into the ATM, causing approximately $4,876.30 in damage.

Jail records also show Ziegenhorn was booked on a failure to appear warrant.

No information on bond was available at the time of publication.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
