PARAGOULD — A camper trailer caught fire early Wednesday morning in Greene County, leaving one person with burn injuries who was later airlifted for medical treatment, according to Sheriff Brad Snyder.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:55 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 141 South and County Road 755. Paragould Emergency Services, deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Western Greene County Fire Department, AMMC Ambulance Service, and Survival Flight all responded.
Emergency crews found the trailer burning with the occupant suffering from reported burn injuries. While firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, crews established a landing zone for the medical helicopter at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The patient was airlifted from the scene shortly afterward.
Snyder said emergency personnel remained on-site following the transport and urged drivers in the area to reduce speed and use caution due to ongoing response operations.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
