BEEBE, Ark. — Two juveniles are facing felony charges after police say shots were fired late Monday night at Beebe High School, leaving one vehicle damaged and a teenager with minor injuries.
According to Beebe police, White County Dispatch received a call around 10:56 p.m. Monday reporting gunfire on the school campus. Officers arrived and found a vehicle with a bullet hole. A juvenile received minor injuries believed to have been caused by shrapnel when the bullet struck the vehicle.
Investigators with the Beebe City Police Department and Beebe School District Police Department reviewed surveillance video, collected witness statements, and recovered a spent shell casing from the parking lot. Based on the evidence, two juveniles were arrested on multiple felony offenses.
The White County Juvenile Intake Office has scheduled hearings for the juveniles to appear in court.
Authorities said the incident highlights the cooperation between the city police and school district police, both working toward the same goal of maintaining safety on school grounds.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details were released.
