
JONESBORO, Ark. – A Jonesboro woman was arrested this week for allegedly becoming intoxicated in public and assaulting a 78-year-old victim, according to a police report.
The incident occurred between 12:00 PM and 1 PM on October 11 at the 1900-block of Grant Avenue in Jonesboro. Police responded to a potential domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, a 78-year-old male listed as the spouse of the suspect. He had bruises on the back of his hands from the attack, the report states.
Rebecca Sue Slayton, 44, of Jonesboro, was arrested for third-degree domestic battery and public intoxication, both misdemeanors. She was incarcerated at the Craighead County Detention Center and released the following day.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for 1 PM on November 29.
