JONESBORO, Ark. – Police investigated another case of child endangerment this week after responding to a home where a 4-year-old child was left unattended.

It happened around 3:12 PM on October 10 in Jonesboro. Specific details are masked to protect the child’s identity. The report indicates that two subjects left their 4-year-old son home alone for multiple hours.

Police were dispatched to a call of a juvenile left unattended. Officer Caleb Michael Gustin arrived to find the young child standing at the door. No one was in the house but him. Moments later, the parents, a 24-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, returned.

As it turns out, the four-year-old was left alone due to a miscommunication between the parents and another person, Public Information Officer Sally Smith told NEA Report. A language barrier played a role in the miscommunication.

The parents were not cited or arrested during the incident.
