Jonesboro, Ark. — May 4, 2021 (5:30 p.m.) — Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation of Jonesboro reports that electric services to approximately 4,800 members were without power in the peak of the storm. Services were interrupted by straight line winds in excess of eighty-five miles per hour, caused damage to approximately twenty-five poles.
Approximately 265 members remain without power in Greene, Lawrence, and Craighead counties, as of 5:30 p.m. Crews are working in affected areas to restore power as quickly as possible. The areas include: Lynn, Jonesboro, Paragould, Brookland, Imboden, Ravenden, Walnut Ridge, and Hoxie. Crews will be working until mid-night. If power has not been restored by that time, crews will continue at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
“Many utilities across Arkansas have reported similar outages,” said Brian Duncan, CEO of Craighead Electric. “We would like to thank City Water and Light for helping in the restoration process. We are working diligently and safely to restore service to our members.”
