Man struck with gun; $15,000 in truck parts purchased with forged checks; Other reports released Wednesday and Thursday by JPD

Reports Released Wednesday

  • A vehicle was broken into between 12:15 AM and 7 AM Tuesday at the 100-block of Daybreak Drive. A firearm was stolen from the trunk.
  • A suspect entered a vehicle between Monday night and Tuesday at the 500-block of East Oak and stole property
  • A vehicle was broken into between Monday and Tuesday night at the 1600-block of Roleson Lane. A firearm was also stolen.

A report alleging aggravated assault and felony second degree battery was filed Tuesday morning stating that between 9:40 and 10 AM, a man was struck with a gun by a suspect at the Links Apartments.

A suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and firearms, a felony, driving with a cancelled license, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver (which is a felony in Arkansas) after a traffic stop around noon Tuesday near Marion Berry Parkway and Aggie Road in Jonesboro.

Two guns and two meth pipes were found in a hotel room by housekeeping at the Fairview Inn Tuesday afternoon.

A reported forgery in the amount of $15,516.48 was alleged Tuesday afternoon at a truck accessories shop on Parker Road. According to the report, Q-Checks were forged over a period of time to purchase a significant number of truck accessories.

A report alleges that two suspects entered a pregnant victim’s residence around noon Tuesday and attacked her. The location was masked.

A Jonesboro police officer had to deploy a taser on a dog that was attacking a cat around 2 PM Tuesday at the 1500-block of Glenn Pl.

Suspects allegedly broke into a victim’s house and committed a theft around 8:20 PM Tuesday at the 1700-block of Westwood Drive. It was reported to be gang related.

A man was arrested early Wednesday in Jonesboro for allegedly choking his girlfriend until she could not breathe. Around 4 AM at the 2000-block of Stonemill Drive, police arrested Corey Fowler, 23, of Jonesboro. Although the arrest was for aggravated assault, the investigating officer amended the charge down to third degree battery, a misdemeanor.

An attempted residential burglary was reported shortly before 5 AM Wednesday at the 2200-block of Conrad Drive.

Reports released Thursday

Around 4 PM Wednesday, a man reported he sent a check for $1,200 rent by mail only to have it stolen and cashed by an unknown subject into a JPMorgan Chase account.

A man who was supposed to be repairing a victim’s car allegedly stole it between March 13 and October 21 at the 1700-block of Murray Creek Drive, a report on Wednesday said.

A report alleged a residential burglary around 10:40 PM Wednesday at the 700-block of West Nettleton Avenue, allegedly also involving an assault.

A woman reported her residence broken into and dog stolen around 10 PM at the 1300-block of N. Church Street.

A vehicle break-in was reported between Wednesday night and Thursday morning at the 1200-block of S. Main Street. The vehicle was broken into from the driver window.
