Several thefts reported this week in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A number of crimes involving thefts have been reported in Jonesboro already this week, with many stemming from over the weekend. Here are several of them as detailed in incident reports made available to us by Jonesboro Police Department.

On Monday, May 14, an 81-year-old man reported his air conditioner was ripped out of the window of his rental trailer. It took place sometime between the previous Friday and Monday morning. It is described as a GE outside window air conditioner. There are no known suspects as of this time.

Another incident reported on Monday resulted in several items being stolen from a business. A suspect broke into a shop building at the 800-block of North Church Street in Jonesboro sometime between Saturday evening and Monday morning. They used something to pry open and destroy the overhead door to get inside. Once in the business, the suspect stole a large number of items. A Harbor Freight welder, a Snap On torque wrench, several cordless drills, and several other items were stolen. There were no known suspects listed in the report.

A third incident detailing theft was reported Monday to police in Jonesboro. Someone reportedly stole an electrical service panel/box off of two homes at the 3500-block of Forest Home Road over the weekend. A property manager said a suspect showed up Friday afternoon and said he had permission to take property from the house. The property manager told him to leave. He was described as a white male, 50-60, with straight short gray hair and straight teeth. He drove a white Ford F-150 pickup with red secondary coloring.

More than thefts were reported this week. Also on Monday, May 14, a suspect damaged a mailbox in Jonesboro. It happened at 1:31 AM early Monday at the 1000-block of Russell Hill Drive. A 4-door passenger car crashed into the brick mailbox and had to back up in reverse to get out of the wreckage. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the driver side front corner by the headlight.
