JPD Street Crimes Unit busts $200K worth of dope

JONESBORO, Ark. -A huge amount of drugs were taken off of the streets of Jonesboro today.

Earlier today, following a lengthy investigation, members of the Jonesboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit arrested to Jonesboro residents on a number of Drug charges. Eric Kent, 37, and Maggie Miller, 24, are facing charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the welfare of a minor.

The two were arrested Thursday at 4305 Timberlake in Jonesboro. Temporary bond has been set on Kent at $1,000,000.000 and Millers at $100,000.00.

The SCU confiscated more than 5 pounds of illicit drugs with a street value over $200,000.00, along with more than $8000 in cash and a gun.

The Street Crimes Unit is a specialized unit that focuses on deterring drug use and sales, criminal group activity and other violent crimes in Jonesboro.
