JONESBORO, Ark. – It’s that time of the year where once again, many oblivious residents in the area leave their pets inside the vehicle and expect them to be okay.
Samuel Wimpy, 48, of Jonesboro, is the latest accused of making this mistake. At 7:45 p.m. Monday, July 24, JPD arrived at Walmart on Parker Road in Jonesboro to find a dog in the front seat of a 2010 Nissan Maxima. The windows were cracked open, slightly, the report said. It was 88 degrees outside.
Police paged the man to return to the vehicle through customer service. Wimpy provided his ID, which led police to learn of possible warrants through Poinsett County. The warrants were confirmed.
The man was cited for animal cruelty and advised of his court date for Poinsett County, the report said. His Jonesboro court date will be August 2.

I hope he gets what he deserves. Put him in a car with the windows cracked for a few hours is what needs to be started out with punishing him and then out in the sun chained up for a few days and then not allowed to have any animals!!!
Melinda – That is why you don’t make that decision. You are a typical uninformed citizen who most likely has a dramatic opinion about anything you see or read. You should spend your time more constructively and it would benefit society!
Who is going to be in Walmart for a few hours?
I can’t condemn someone who would leave their dog in car to go into Walmart to pick up a gallon of milk.
Thank you Chuck and in all fairness, what was originally planned as a quick trip in & out of Walmart actually took longer than expected. I opened all four windows enough to where air could circulate, but not enough for my dog to get his head or jaw outside of the car for the public’s safety. Bottom line, I didn’t realize I had been in Walmart for somewhere around 20-30 minutes. Was headed to check out when the announcement was made to return to my car. The officers were very good to work with and they had a job to do. I was wrong for leaving him in the car that long so they brought it to my attention. It’s frustrating to hear some of the comments of people who have absolutely no first hand knowledge of what took place, yet they have such harsh comments. Appreciate you comment!
What’s frustrating, Sam Wimpy, is for you to break the law again & wiggle your way out of being arrested by those who have the warrants to do it. The John Gotti of Jonesboro over the last decade! Matter of time…..just a matter of time!
Go clean your shitbag, Tyler!
Hit another parapalegic in a wheelchair w/ a club, go have sex w/ another superintendent’s underage daughter, cheat on your wife Heather some more while she is at work.
You set the standard so high.
Now, go clean your shit bag some more Tyler Thomason!
Tyler – How are those new charges working out for you, your marriage? Just a bit more serious than an unpaid speeding ticket…wouldn’t you say???……..SMH!
