JONESBORO, Ark. – Going to work shouldn’t subject a 20-year-old Dillard’s worker to death threats but after a group of thieves showed up, he was told he would get killed three times, his report to JPD said.

It happened sometime after 8:30 p.m. Monday night at The Mall at Turtle Creek in Jonesboro, where at least three suspects were believed to have worked together to steal $3,466 in merchandise, the Jonesboro Police Department incident report said. Officer Porche Hall was told three suspects, a female and two males, had come into the store asking about purses and a matching wallet. She took the bag to try it on and then called her husband over to bring more “bread,” the report said.

The trio asked a young lady to check prices on the items and when she looked down, they walked out. She asked if they would pay for the items and as they were walking out, she said they flipped her off.

As one of the men was walking out of the door with the merchandise, a young male employee said one of the men said, “I’m going to kill you,” at least three times, after bumping into him.

The three suspects could be charged with felony theft due to the amount being greater than $1,000. They could also face a charge of robbery.

  1. Jonesboro is becoming a high crime area. If you add the crimes that aren’t reported, it would really be bad. I saw 8 police cars surround a house Friday July 7, 2017 and there was no coverage on the news about it. This was at Franklin and Wilkins. When I passed by it a second time, the cops were putting on bulletproof vests.

What do you think?
