Name released in Saturday night shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. – Police have released the name of the person shot Saturday night as they continue pursuing leads in the investigation.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 800 block of Hope Street at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they were told that one man had been shot. However, witnesses told officers that both the victim, Phillip Antonie Hamilton, 36, of Jonesboro, and the person who shot him had left the scene.

Hamilton subsequently was located and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and remains there for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are pursuing a number of leads in the case but no arrest has been made.
