JONESBORO, Ark. – A Jonesboro man faces several charges, accused of forcing his way into his girlfriend’s apartment and assaulting her.
The alleged incident happened at The Links Apartments in Jonesboro. Jonesboro police were dispatched at 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, to 1421 South Caraway Road to take the report from the first of two callers – Joshua Dunn, 26, of Jonesboro. He advised Officer Tyler Wilson he and his girlfriend had been in an argument and he would like to talk to an officer about it.
“He stated that he called us because his girlfriend just moved out of the room they were staying in,” Wilson reported. “Dunn stated that she took some of his music cds that belonged to him. He went over to the address at the Links, where (she) was staying at. He knocked on the door. He stated that the door was locked so he was not able to get inside the residence.”
Prior to the officer arriving to speak with Dunn, his girlfriend also called 911. Another officer was with her and advised she had bruising on her face and her version of events differed from Dunn’s.
She told authorities she opened the door to see who was knocking and tried to close it when she realized it was Dunn. He forced his way into the apartment, she said, and then began to assault her. She also said he took her phone to prevent her from calling someone – a crime in itself, if true.
Dunn was arrested. He was transported to Craighead County Detention Center where he was left in lieu of an probable cause hearing for felony residential burglary and misdemeanors including domestic battery in the third degree, assault in the second degree on family or household member, and interference with emergency communication.
Detectives had difficulty in reaching the alleged victim on Wednesday morning.
